Mulino Alimentari – Shenzhen, China

While exploring the bustling city of Shenzhen, China, we stopped at Mulino Alimentari for a little taste of Italy. Sometimes, nothing hits the spot quite like Italian food, and I was excited to see what this cozy escape had to offer!

We kicked things off with an Aperol Spritz and a Watermelon Fizz. The Aperol Spritz was a classic, refreshing choice, while the Watermelon Fizz brought a fruity twist with vodka, lemon juice, and watermelon syrup.

The Pesto and Clams Pappardelle was an interesting twist on a classic pasta dish. Wide ribbons of pappardelle were tossed with fresh basil pesto, tender clams, and a creamy béchamel sauce, with roasted potatoes adding a unique touch. A rich, herbaceous combination that brought together the flavors of the sea with the freshness of basil.

As a truffle lover, I was especially excited to try the Tartufata! The rigatoni was coated in a rich, creamy truffle sauce, topped with delicate slices of truffle and toasted walnuts for a little crunch. It was earthy, indulgent, and full of flavor—the kind of pasta dish I could happily keep eating long after I was full!

I ended the meal with a scoop of chocolate gelato, rich, creamy, and wonderfully chocolatey. Sometimes, you just can’t go wrong with a classic, and this was the perfect sweet note to finish our Italian dining experience!

It was lovely to find a little taste of Italy in the heart of Shenzhen. In a city full of exciting flavors and new experiences, Mulino Alimentari offered a comforting change of pace with its Italian-inspired dishes. It was a reminder that good food has a way of making you feel at home, no matter where in the world you are!

Enjoy!
